This Amazon seller came to us with a product in a very competitive Amazon category. The best seller has over 20k reviews. Their goal was ambitious. We need to take over the top seller and become the #1 seller.
We took an holistic approach, rather then just focusing on just their Amazon Marketing like keywords and campaigns, We looked into the core benefits of their product its users.
We researched the Amazon category thoroughly and realized that this is a product that targets multiple demographics. It’s a product that can be used for the elderly, kids, and pets.
The first thing we suggested was to redo their Amazon product listing and make sure that we are targeting all demographics in our images. That’s something we see many Amazon brands fail to accomplish. Most brands will use keyword research to improve SEO but will fail to align their images and graphics with the keyword research to make sure it’s aligned with what customers are searching for.
We redid the main image multiple times and A/B tested until we had an image we were 100 confident that it was the best it could be.
Then we looked at all main keywords and went after them aggressively with PPC and increasing Top of Search in order to get the best CVR possible. The better the keywords convert with PPC the better they’ll rank organically.
In addition to going aggressive on Amazon PPC, we also strategized on deals and pricing. We made sure to be lower priced than the competition, increasing with that our CVR. At this point, our CVR was over 30%!
It took a few months, but we finally succeeded in getting the Amazon Best Seller Badge! Overtaking a competition that has had it comfortably for years. Once we got the badge, we were able to increase pricing and still maintain our top position.
